šŸ‚ ’The Cruel Prince’ Cross-stitch šŸ‚

I’m back with more cross-stitch! Holly Black’s Folk Of The Air series has so many amazing quotes, it seemed like a missed opportunity to not give one a go. If you’ve missed some of my other creations, I got into cross-stitch over lockdown and have been trying to recreate some of my favorite quotes and characters. I’ve always wanted to be able to draw scenes from books, but I cannot draw so I guess this is my way of doing fan art? Either way, it was fun to make.

My main inspiration for the border was ā€˜as many flowers as possible’ – and I think I managed to fulfill the brief! The original plan was to stitch Jude and Cardan in the centre (because they are the most badass couple) but I ran out of room. To be honest, I was short for space for even words. I may have… abridged the quote to fit it all in, but you get the gist.

What do you think? Got any ideas for quotes or characters for me to try next? What are some hobbies that you picked up in lockdown? Any cross-stitching tips would be excitedly accepted too – let me know in the comments!

– THE REAL QUOTE

Published by Hundreds&Thousands

I’m a teenager (and a Hufflepuff) from Manchester. I like oversized jumpers, music that isn't on the radio anymore and books. Pretty much any book I can get my hands on but my favourites are Young Adult, fantasy and science fiction. One day, I decided to share some of my opinions on some great - and not so great - books to people around the world. And here it is! I really enjoy it and I hope you do too. The aim is hundreds and thousands of book reviews (see what I did there?) but I’m not quite up to that. Yet.

    1. Aw I’m glad to find another Crosstitcher haha. There are so many patterns out there that you can really do whatever you want, but I thought that YA books were a good place to start! I make all my patterns šŸ™‚

  1. Ohhh! That’s so awesome! I love the “Folk Of The Air” series and I have yet to read the last book, but I totally agree about the amazing quotes. =) It’s been ages I last did some cross-stitching so I definitely can’t give you any tips. You already do a way better job than I’d ever be able to do. *lol*

    1. THE LAST BOOK IS AMAZING! I’m almost jealous that you have the experience of reading it for the first time lol – trust me, it’s brilliant! I thought that the second book wasn’t quite as good as the first, but if you need any incentive to read the last, it was my favourite and so much stuff goes down. Sorry for the overexcitement haha but I really enjoyed it (don’t know if you could tell šŸ˜†)

    1. Aw thank you so much! It took a while 😬 Although it turned into the sort of thing where once you’ve done one you can do a few without thinking (although maybe i should have payed attention a little more because I definitely stabbed myself with the needle more than once haha)
